PC Base DVR

The PC based DVR is a computer that uses a Video Capture Card and  a software to record video from multiple cameras on a hard disk drive, software normally is installed on a hard drive using a windows or lynux based operating system.

Advantages of PC based DVR

Compatible with surveillance softwares such as facial identification, license plate recognition, missing item detection, point of sales cash register, etc. Can be integrated with other security systems.

Disadvantages of PC Based DVR

Less reliable and less stable than Stand  Alone DVR, more vulnerable to viruses and hackers. More expensive than Stand Alone DVR.
